Feminine Movement-The Art of Burlesque

Coming December 9^th to In Other Words (8 NE Killingsworth) at 6p will be a night of tantalizing education and fun. Sahara Dunes, Portland's own burlesque artist and proprietress of Burly Girl Productions, brings you Feminine Movement-The Art of Burlesque, an evening of learning, moving, and fun. Sahara will educate you on the history of burlesque starting with the 1800's right up to current revival. Then she'll get you up and moving with a few of her favorite burlesque moves. And to end the night, there will be a screening of A Wink and A Smile, a burlesque documentary about 10 women who attend Seattle's Academy of Burlesque and how it changed their life forever. It also stars Miss Indigo Blue along with some other great Seattle burlesque performers.

This is a night not to miss. Plus there will be some goodies to munch on and some delicious beverages to drink.

Lily Verlaine, Seattle Burlesque Starlet and director of Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker, has a new project… Nightcap At The Triple Door. A showcase of talent from numerous disciplines by performers at the top of their fields, NIGHTCAP brings the bawdy, the brainy, and the boisterous together in a late-night variety show based on different artistic themes and performers that change month to month.

The October installment of NIGHTCAP will feature "Hello In There" a silent play by Heidi Heimarck, live music by The Seattle Freelance String Quartet, Vienna La Rouge in her final Seattle performance, Ruby Mimosa of The Atomic Bombshells and The Aerialistas: Seattle's Original Aerial Girl-Gang. Jasper McCann hosts and the evening is infused with the presence of the "Living, Breathing Work Of Art", Lily Verlaine.
