The average Portlander may be surprised to learn that their local performance scene does not yet boast a monthly all-burlesque revue. With the wide array of enchanting stage vixens hailing from our city, it is certainly time that lovers of this art were offered an ongoing, quality production. Now, one of the city's best-known burlesque production teams has joined forces with the largest nightclub in Oregon to accomplish this very goal.

SinnSavvy Productions and Barracuda Nightclub present "Cuda Cabaret", kicking off on Friday, December 18th and continuing into 2010 on the third Friday of every month. The full-length revue is slated to feature some of the very best in local burlesque, as well as a few popular out-of-towners. Confirmed on the lineup thus far are names such as: Baby LeStrange, Charlotte Treuse, Delilah Sinn, Euphemia Fox, Hai Fleisch, Kittie Katrina, Nina Nightshade, Sandria Dore, and headlining diva duo D'Ames. Hosting the evening will be SinnSavvy's own Laura "The Emceeiam" Dean, of Rose City Sirens and B.B. Dolls emcee fame, and event staff includes the Portland Stage Pups and Coffee For Drew Productions/Photography.

In a city brimming with erotic art, it is due time that burlesque demands a consistent place on the stage. Each month, show goers can expect to be captured and tantalized by this explosion of beauty, satirical choreography, glitter, and rhinestones. Burlesque is alive and well in the city of roses, and "Cuda Cabaret" is out to prove it.

Pastie Parade Burlesque Show will be the first Burlesque Show in the NW Portland neighborhood that we know of. The kick off show includes local Contortionist Phenom: BLAZE who was recently featured in Playboy Magazine, 8 Miles Wide Music Video by Storm Large, and has performed regularly at Mary's Club and Dante's in Portland as a featured dancer for several years. 'Indulgence', Giving You Showgirls, Burlesque, & Tantalizing Dance

Portland, Oregon, January 12, 2009 – Burly Girl Productions proudly presents Portland’s first and only weekly burlesque revue, ‘Indulgence’. Indulgence will take place every Thursday through January, at Hawthorne Theatre (Se 39th and Hawthorne Ave.). Indulgence features some of the sexiest and most talented burlesque performers and showgirls in the NW. The week of January 15th, Indulgence will feature five (5) fabulous performers from the Pacific Northwest. We have a wonderful guest emcee this week. We have none other than the fabulous Splenduh the Unicorn.

Fuchsia FoXXX- Miss Fuchsia FoXXX has taken the world by storm with her earth quaking shimmies and and marvelous body rolls. Fuchsia FoXXX has fused a variety of traditions and experiences, creating & performing a unique hybrid of exotic dance over the last 10 years. She can be seen undulating & shimming & all over the globe! Based in Seattle, she's a highly sought after instructor in, "The Academy of Burlesque"! Fuchsia FoXXX has performed in the London Burlesque Festival and various venues in Canada, San Francisco, and the Northwest.

Itty Bitty Bang Bang-Itty Bitty Bang Bang entered the world in the typical way... as a top-secret German weapon of war. The accidental creation of mad scientist Professor X, Itty Bitty was forced into a life as an undercover assassin. The perfect combination of innocence and explosive sex appeal, the Germans new that this saucy minx was their key to world domination. What they didn't count on was her unwavering free spirit and insatiable appetite for mischief. Itty Bitty fled to America and now shimmies her way from stage to stage... still thwarting the German government at every turn. She has been seen in some of The City of Roses best burlesque shows such as The Hellish Holiday Bash, The Burlesque Blowout with The Stolen Sweets & Sassparilla and Indulgence. On Labor Day Weekend 2009 she will travel to the East Coast to perform at the Coney Island Rockabilly Festival. She's ITTY... she's BITTY... and she BANG BANGs!

Meghan Mayhem-Meghan hails from all that is ripe and luscious. ‘The Pacific Pin-Up’ comes from Hawaii and she has twirled her tassels at grand events like the Coney Island Rockabilly Festival, Tease-O-Rama, Tiki Oasis, and Dante’s Sinferno on Sundays. She is one of the creators of The Occasional Man and has performed with The Glam-O-Rama Girly Show. Meghan Mayhem is the mastermind behind the founding of the Cherry Blossom Cabaret. She was introduced to burlesque at age eight when she was selected to perform as a saloon girl to do the can-can. Mayhem discovered the resurgence of burlesque in the early 1990's at a cabaret review starring Dita Von Tease. That moment provided the impetus for Mayhem to form the Cherry Blossom Cabaret in 2006.

Bella Beretta-Nico Bella is a raconteur and provocateur that has left a trail of infamy down the west coast. In 1999 Nico (Bella Beretta/Sadie LaGuerre) founded Seattle's first burlesque ensemble "The Gun Street Girls". The Gun Street Girls are recognized as vanguards of the "Neo-Burlesque" movement and were the first ensemble in the country to identify themselves as "Punk Burlesque". In 2003 Nico relocated to Los Angeles and brought with her a D.I.Y. ethic and an uncompromising devotion to "Glitter and Gutter" that is evident in everything she puts her stamp on. Her production company Fleur De Lethal has produced "The Lost Weekend:Black Dahlia", The Ooh La L.A. ( Starring Dita Von Teese and Royal Crown Revue) @ The Orpheum, Burlesque @ The Derby and The Tease @ 3's. After a 4 year run in Los Angeles, she returned to Portland and established The Royal Tease and co-produces Cabaret Babylon with the unparallelled Noah Mickens. However, her career as an award winning burlesque dancer is the least interesting aspect of her life. Offstage, Nico has founded 2 book clubs, created an urban drive-in,is an accomplished artist and curates a monthly film series for The McMenamins Theaters. When she is not producing events she is making art, chasing a pug, and always listening to Tom Waits."

Hai Fleisch-Hai Fleisch began performing 2 years ago in San Francisco, as one of the founding members of Kiss Que C'est Burlesque. She has performed at such shows as the Hubba Hubba Revue, Red Hots Burlesque and the Tease-O-Rama Meet & Mingle. This summer she migrated north to Portlandia where she continues to perform as a solo tassel twirler.

Portland, Oregon, December 27, 2008 – Burly Girl Productions proudly presents Portland's first and only weekly burlesque revue, 'Indulgence'. Indulgence will take place every Thursday through January, starting January 8th, at Hawthorne Theatre (Se 39th and Hawthorne Ave.). Indulgence will feature some of the sexiest and most talented burlesque performers and showgirls in the NW. The week of January 8th, Indulgence will feature five (5) fabulous performers from Portland, Seattle, Corvallis, and New Orleans.

Swingtease- Miss Euphemia Fox and Mister Minix Mips, a.k.a. "Swingtease," are Portland-based performers combining vintage striptease and swing dancing. The duo have been swing dancing for over 10 years. They are new to burlesque revival and having a blast figuring out how to take it off while leading and following their favorite swing dances: lindy hop, charleston, collegiate shag, balboa and solo jazz. Swingtease has performed at Bad Motor Booty in Seattle, Best of Our Burlesque Show 2008, and Cabaret Babylon.

Sahara Dunes-This lovely has been tearing up the burlesque scene since 2004. Known as 'Portland's Caribbean Sapphic Burlesque Sweetheart', Sahara mixes classic, vintage, modern, and neo-burlesque moves into one giant glitter ball of sexiness. She has performed on stages as Tease-O-Rama, Cabaret Babylon, Burning Hearts Burlesque, and Urban Bombshells. Sahara has shared a stage with such greats as Michelle L'Amour, Catherine D'Lish, Miss Indigo Blue, Satan's Angel, and Dirty Martini. She is known in the burlesque community as the 'Mother of Portland Burlesque'. 2009 appears to be very promising for Sahara.As Sahara will open Oregon's first burlesque university at Diva Den Studios-WEST, go on tour with the Wild Women of the West, traveling to Canada, San Francisco, & Los Angelas, and appear at Coney Island's Rockabilly Festival. Not to mention a few other naughty ventures are up her fishnets.

Mz. Ginger Snapz-Ginger is 'Seattle's Premier Black Burlesque Entertainer'. She has shimmied her way across the nation, having appeared at such venues as Tease-O-Rama, Vancouver (BC) International Burlesque Festival, and Femmecon 2008. Ginger Snapz has been 'adoped' by burlesque legend Toni Elling and has received years worth of advice and mentoring. She is one document away from being the second burlesque starlet in the world to have a phD. Ginger Snapz supports radical potential of performance in marginalized communities.

Meghan Mayhem-Meghan hails from all that is ripe and luscious. 'The Pacific Pin-Up' comes from Hawaii and she has twirled her tassels at grand events like the Coney Island Rockabilly Festival, Tease-O-Rama, Tiki Oasis, and Dante's Sinferno on Sundays. She is one of the creators of The Occasional Man and has performed with The Glam-O-Rama Girly Show. Meghan Mayhem is the mastermind behind the founding of the Cherry Blossom Cabaret. She was introduced to burlesque at age eight when she was selected to perform as a saloon girl to do the can-can. Mayhem discovered the resurgence of burlesque in the early 1990's at a cabaret review starring Dita Von Tease. That moment provided the impetus for Mayhem to form the Cherry Blossom Cabaret in 2006, which before Cherry Blossom Cabaret, Hawaii have really never heard of burlesque.

Gretchen Belladonna-The winds of Hurricane Katrina have brought Gretchen here from New Orleans, LA. Though currently based in Portland OR and performing as soloist, she is also regular performer both as a soloist and company member of the Sisters of Salome Bellydance Collective; the premiere professional Bellydance company in New Orleans, LA. She has performed professionally at restaurant venues, on stage & in Burlesque reviews. She is known as an entertainer with her vibrant personality, comedic timing and audience rapport. As a formally trained performer Gretchen dances with cultural & historical respect, technical ability and musicality. She wishes to share with you tonight the Happiness and Joy that Middle Eastern Dance has to offer.

First, there is 'Cabaret Babylon' at The Fez Ballroom (318 SW 11th) on New Years Day. $10 cover and doors open at 8 pm. Hosted by Sadie LeGuerre and Noah Mickens, this is a night of wicked little treats for all to have.

Then, gather yourself for 'Indulgence' at the Hawthorne Theatre in the Lounge (SE 39th and Hawthorne) on Jan 8th. Admission is $10 and you get a free raffle ticket with ever paid admission. Performers from Seattle and Portland will be gracing the stage and warming you up. Doors open 8p.

And, at The Wonder Ballroom performing with The Stolen Sweets, Sassparrllia, and Sneaking Out will be some of Portland's finest burlesque starlets...Charlotte Treuse, Sahara Dunes, Hai Fleisch!, Betty Deadly, and Meghan Mayhem. This night is a $10 admission and doors open at 7 pm.

For those of you that are just beside yourselves with joy that burlesque has finally made it's way to our humble city limits, brace yourselves. 2009 has more things burlesque...more events burlesque...more styles burlesque. Not only burlesque, but vintage and retro. Pin-up and rockabilly styles are making their way here too and it's fabulous.

In Other Words (8 NE Killingsworth) has burlesque inspired fashions by Burly Girl Creations. Pasties, hairclips, accessory cases, and more are available. Not mention we all should be supporting IOW, the nations only feminist bookstore left standing.

www.burlesqueorbust.uk.co has some great vintage and pin-up inspired corsets and clothing. They are based in the UK, but their prices are pretty reasonable.

Oh Baby! has a nice selection of lingerie and underclothing in a variety of sizes. Their bras are a wide range of sizes and styles to fit almost everyone. They are located on NE Broadway, 2 doors down form Cadillac Cafe.

Hawthorne Theatre has ventured into the wild world of burlesque with their weekly Thursday night burlesque revue.

First, they had Sugar Q Burlesque, who burned up the stage with their sassy, neo-burlesque, Pussycat Doll style.

Now, they have Burly Girl Productions bring in talent from all over the NW. Their opening night was Thursday the 4th and it will continue through the end of January. This show is more like a burlesque variety show then anything, as you will see not only burlesque, but bellydance, singing, contortion and many more talents. And as you know, burlesque it self have many facets within it...fan dance, shake n' shimmy, vintage, neo.....the list goes on.

So swing by the good ole Hawthorne Theatre for some stylish, quality burlesque every Thursday night.

Feminine Movement-The Art of Burlesque

Coming December 9^th to In Other Words (8 NE Killingsworth) at 6p will be a night of tantalizing education and fun. Sahara Dunes, Portland's own burlesque artist and proprietress of Burly Girl Productions, brings you Feminine Movement-The Art of Burlesque, an evening of learning, moving, and fun. Sahara will educate you on the history of burlesque starting with the 1800's right up to current revival. Then she'll get you up and moving with a few of her favorite burlesque moves. And to end the night, there will be a screening of A Wink and A Smile, a burlesque documentary about 10 women who attend Seattle's Academy of Burlesque and how it changed their life forever. It also stars Miss Indigo Blue along with some other great Seattle burlesque performers.

This is a night not to miss. Plus there will be some goodies to munch on and some delicious beverages to drink.
